RBA Governor Lowe is set to speak in less than an hour now, after the AUDUSD has moved sideways so far this week. Price has stalled just under the 0.74250 resistance, having closed last week with strong bullish momentum.

The AUDUSD has been whipsawing with increased volatility, and todays RBA speech might send the Aussie into freefall again. The US federal reserve has announced an increasingly hawkish view, looking for multiple rate hikes in the near future to do “what it takes” to reduce inflation. Meanwhile the RBA has stood fast in their outlook of not raising rates until 2024, so if RBA’s Lowe remains sloth like in his reaction to inflation during todays speech we can anticipate some AUDUSD downside.
